Abbeys
The International Trappist Association (ITA) unites seventeenTrappist abbeys within Europe and beyond. Foodstuffs and other articles are produced in all abbeys that are members of the ITA. This production takes place within the walls of a monastery, or nearby, and always under the supervision of Trappists and Trappistines who are often also involved in the production.
Below you will find a brief profile of the abbeys that are members of the ITA. For more information about the religious communities and their history, please consult the websites of individual abbeys.
