Brialmont mushrooms (B)

The sisters of Brialmont grow button mushrooms.

No chemicals are used in any of the many steps in the production process, which is focused on the quality of the product.  Growth occurs naturally and is never forced.

All the work is done by the sisters, with about two-thirds of the community helping to a greater or lesser degree in the picking, processing, and shipping of each mushroom harvest.

All their mushroom products are for sale in the Monastery Store.



The mushrooms are marketed FRESH, dried, pickled, as soup, and in quiche. And, the latest specialty is mushroom spice!

Dried mushrooms work wonders in soups, omelettes, sauces, rice and pasta dishes. Available in small 20-gram bags (or a case of 40 bags); 40-gram bags (or a case of 20 bags); and 100-gram bags (or a case of 12 bags).

Pickled mushrooms. These so-called "champinains" are mushrooms pickled in wine vinegar with bay leaves and black pepper balls. Delicious as hors d'oeuvres or added to cold dishes. They will keep  months. They can also be purchased by the case, each case containing 6 glass jars. 

Mushroom soup; vacuum packed in bags containing either a half-liter or one liter. Fresh soup will keep 8 days, or it can be frozen for up to 4 months.

Mushroom quiche made with eggs, bacon and mushrooms and weighing approximately 1.2 kilogram. Really delicious and healthy too!

Mushroom spice; finely ground dried mushrooms which add a delicious aroma to all your casseroles, soups, sauces, omelettes, etc. Available in 30-gram bottles.
