The Trappist beer “La Trappe” is brewed in Koningshoeven Abbey in Tilburg (NL). "Blonde" is a clear, sparkling, light beer, easy to drink, with a high fermentation suited to European taste. The use of refined hops gives this beer its characteristic soft, bitter aftertaste and cool, fragrant aroma. “Blonde” is 6.5% ABV and is available in 30 cl. and 75 cl. bottles as well as 30-liter kegs. La Trappe’s "Dubbel" is a dark, ruby-red Trappist with a soft, fragrant, and especially fresh character. “Dubbel” is 6.5% ABV and is available in 30 cl. and 75 cl. bottles as well as 30-liter kegs. La Trappe’s "Tripel" is a darker yellow Trappist with a fruity, bittersweet taste, 8% ABV, available in 30 cl. and 75 cl. bottles as well as 30-liter kegs. "Quadrupel" with its 10% ABV is La Trappe’s heaviest specialty. The taste is full-bodied, mild, and pleasantly bitter. “Quadrupel” is bottled according to the brewing year and is a pleasant companion for long winter evenings. It’s available in 30 cl. and 75 cl. bottles as well as 30-liter kegs. Since 2004, Koningshoeven has also been brewing "Bock Beer", a real autumn beer. It’s a Trappist bock beer, multi-grain, brewed in the classical way, with a top-fermenting character. This specialty is 7.3% ABV. The aroma is that of malt with a bit of a “green scent” from the aromatic hops in the background. It’s deep red in color with the full-bodied taste of the hops that are used. The carmelized malt and hops give this beer a slightly bitter aftertaste. “Bock Beer” is available in season in 30 cl. bottles. “White Trappist” is brewed with especially aromatic hops, giving it a cool character, appropriate for summer weather. “White Trappist” is neither filtered nor pasteurized and the fermentation process continues in the bottle. It is 5.5% ABV and is available in 30 cl. and 75 cl. bottles as well as 30-liter kegs. “White Trappist” should preferably be enjoyed cooled to 4º - 6º C. In 2009, for the occasion of the 125th anniversary of their brewery, Our Lady of Koningshoeven Abbey developed “La Trappe Isid’or,” a jubilee beer. Due to the great success which this beer enjoyed, it will be granted a place in the regular line of La Trappe beers from now on.'La Trappe Isid’or' is a lightly sweet amber beer with a hint of caramel. The beer tastes softly bitter and has a fruity aftertaste. La Trappe Isid’or is brewed with the self-cultivated Perle hop. 7,5% alcohol, pouring temperature 10-14 ºC. The various beers can all be enjoyed on the grounds of the monastery and are available for sale in the Monastery Store. |
