The Trappist monastery of Mount Saint Bernard (Leicestershire in the United Kingdom), became a MEMBER of the International Trappist Association (ITA) on March 6, 2017. On March 6, 2017 the International Trappist Association granted the new beer “Spencer Monks’ Reserve: A Quadrupel Ale” the right to bear the label "Authentic Trappist Product".
The monks of Spencer (USA) are happy to introduce a new ale in a traditional Quadrupel style.
Fragrant, robust and full bodied, this classic Trappist Quadrupel is mahogany in color and crowned with a dense, tan, frothy head.
Its malt forward flavor profile yields to a warm finish. ABV 10.2%
On September 12, 2016, The Trappist community of Scourmont (BE-Chimay) has obtained the certification "Authentic Trappist Product" for its new cheeses!
The Mont de Chimay is a distinctive cheese with a taste typical of dried fruits and nuts. It is a unique product made from pasture-land milk from the Chimay area, a milk rich in aromas that is made during the summer, between May and September.
It is the first semi-cooked pressed cheese from the Chimay cheese dairy. It is matured for 4 months.
